The registration process has a few changes this year, so please read carefully. There is a 2011 form which is linked below. Read and complete it carefully. You'll notice that there is a registration fee (due when turning the registration form in), as well as a uniform fee and a field usage fee. There are different due dates on these additional fees so keep that in mind. We will be ordering new uniforms for all players for 2011 as our old ones are no longer being made by the manufacturer (uniforms are made on 3 year cycles). Please mail registration form along with registration payment to Scott Krohn, 420 Kiowa Ave. New Brighton, MN 55112.
What kind of commitment can I expect from traveling soccer?
The Blaze plays in the MYSA, which has league play during the season, as well as district, regional, and state tournaments at the end of the season. Typically, league play includes 1-2 games per week. Our teams generally practice 1-2 times per week as well. Teams also typically participate in 1-3 weekend tournaments, which are separate from league play. Each team decides how many tournaments they wish to play as these costs are not included in registration fees.
How far will the team travel for league games?
The MYSA has 6 main districts statewide. We play in the north district wich has 33 affiliate clubs, the majority of which are in the twin cities area. However, there are clubs in our district from areas such Cambridge, Chisago Lakes, and as far north as Duluth. So, there is a possibility that our teams will travel to some of these areas for league games. It all depends on which clubs field teams in the age groups and divisions we do.
What are the competitive divisons in the MYSA?
There are 4 divisions: The entry level for most teams is "Classic 3." The next highest is "Classic 2" followed by "Classic 1." The highest level is "Premier." Each season, teams that finish at the lower end of each division are relegted down a level and teams that finish at the higher end of the division are promoted to the next level up. This helps keep league play at the appropriate level.
